Olatu is designed to work without collecting your personal data.
No account, no personal data.
Olatu does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or any personal information. We do not have a server that stores anything about you.
Data stays on your device.
Your logged sessions, favorites, surfer profile, and alert settings are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.
What the app fetches.
To show forecasts, Olatu requests publicly available surf and weather data from third-party providers (including Open-Meteo). Live webcam feeds are loaded directly from third-party webcam providers. These requests are for fixed surf-spot locations and do not include any information identifying you.
No tracking or analytics.
Olatu does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies, and does not sell or share any data.
Notifications.
Surf alerts are generated on your device based on forecast data. Enabling notifications is optional and managed in your device settings.
Children.
Olatu is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
